Leading educational publisher Diwa Learning Systems bestows the Gawad Genyong Guro recognition to elementary and high school teachers who demonstrated adeptness in teaching using information and communication technology or ICT.

Receiving the award are high school Science teacher Michaela Calma of Colegio de San Juan de Letran of Calamba; Science teacher Jacklyn C. Santiago of Canossa School of Sta. Rosa; high school Mathematics and Physics teacher Joven Manuel of Hope Christian High School and Science coordinator Evelyn Moros, also of Hope Christian High School.

Gawad Genyong Guro emphasizes the importance of technology proficiency for both teachers and students. The award is part of Diwa Learning Systems' efforts to lead the way in ICT integrated education. For the past 25 years, Diwa has been trailblazing innovation in supplemental education to upgrade education in the country.

Its product, Genyo, is developed in partnership with Learning Edvantage of the Times Publishing Group, Singapore's biggest e-learning provider. The program, which is being used by 65% of schools in Singapore, has more creative and multi-media content such as interactive quizzes, charts, colorful graphics, animations, video and audio clips.

Genyo has real time chat or graded debates on various topics that can be moderated by the instructors or initiated by the students. Teachers can also load lesson plans, reading materials and reference links for students to prepare for recitations and exams.
