At the core of Diwa Learning Systems, the country's leading educational publisher, are its roster of authors composed of professional educators whose main goal is to uplift the quality of education in the country.

With the opening of the school year, the company invites more educators to be at the forefront of the quest for better education by becoming textbook authors of the University Press of First Asia (UPFA). UPFA is a joint venture between Diwa and the First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (FAITH) which handles Diwa's editorial requirements.

Diwa provides this venue for teachers to help them build their legacy on education as it moves to strengthen the formation of a new community composed of their authors, consultants and reviewers.

The AuthorsGuild@UPFA is composed mostly of school teachers, university professors and instructors who are known experts in their field and have received a grade of at least 80% in the manuscript acceptability standard of the company. They also, possess Diwa's core values of competency, commitment and consistency.

The pioneer members of the Guild include Almira Jallores, Dr. Irene Moral, Dr. Shirley Maloles, Loida Manalo-Dumaguin, Mary Grace Ramos, Faye Vitan, Suzanne Florin, Olivia Coronado, Aimee Estrella, and Andrea Perlas-Gonzales for English subjects; Dr. Elsie Pacho, Katrina Sumagit, Christianne Ian Inosanto, Luzviminda Sibbaluca, Lorelei Ladao-Saren, and Tom Chu for Math subjects; Aloysius Lorenzo, Ian Mark Allas, Bonifacio Navarette Jr., Oliver David, Ma. Elena delos Reyes, Claudine Guiking, Antonio Coloma, and Gregorio Jesuitas for Science subjects; David San Juan, and Alvin Ringgo Reyes for Filipino subjects; and Dexter John Ramos, and Atty. Robert John Donesa for Social Studies.

UPFA offers orientations and workshops for potential authors and members of the guild. For existing guild members, continuous training is also being given through informative learning sessions to be sure that each member imbibe the quality standards of the company.
