To prepare its faculty for the evolving demands of modern education, Blessed Luisa School hosted an institutional seminar titled "Artificial Intelligence in Education and Social-Emotional Learning" on 25 May 2026.
The training session specifically addressed how artificial intelligence can safely support and improve the educational process. It aimed to provide the school’s educators with a practical roadmap to enhance their teaching workflows while keeping ethical boundaries and student well-being at the center of instruction.
Enhancing the Classroom with Ethical and Effective AI
The workshop focused on how generative AI tools can serve as a supportive classroom assistant to personalize learning experiences, streamline lesson planning, design student assessments, and provide timely feedback.
Rather than viewing technology as a replacement for human guidance, the seminar emphasized establishing a healthy balance between digital automation and traditional teaching. Teachers explored crucial boundaries regarding data privacy, technological equity, and preventing overdependence, underscoring that AI should be used strategically to promote critical thinking, creativity, and responsible digital citizenship among students.
Expert Guidance from an Award-Winning STEM Educator
The training was facilitated by Mrs. Marjorie A. Nariz, a veteran faculty member and senior high school coordinator at Las Piñas City National Science High School. Bringing extensive academic research experience and local recognition—including winning second place in the DOST-SEI National Innobox Challenge for innovative digital teaching materials—Mrs. Nariz provided the faculty with deep, real-world insights into successful classroom technology integration.
During her session, Mrs. Nariz shared actionable methods for teachers to confidently pilot AI applications to ease their administrative routines. Her discussion showed educators how to free up valuable time to focus on student mentorship and social-emotional guidance.
A Joined Initiative for 21st-Century Classrooms
This essential professional development milestone for the faculty of Blessed Luisa School was brought to the campus through the combined efforts and coordination of Diwa Learning Systems Inc. and Bato Balani Foundation Inc. By working alongside local schools, both organizations remain committed to delivering timely training and resources that empower teachers to handle shifting digital landscapes with confidence.
