Kids World Christian Academy Prepares for the New Curriculum with Curriculum Mapping and Lesson Planning Seminar

To ensure a seamless transition to the upcoming academic year, Kids World Christian Academy (KWCA) hosted a targeted faculty development seminar on 16 May 2026. Held at the KWCA High School campus, the intensive training session titled “Focus on Developing Curriculum Maps (CMAPs) and Lesson Plans Aligned with the New Curriculum” brought together the institution’s teaching faculty to master modern instructional design.


The seminar was facilitated by Mr. Ricardo C. Ahillon, Jr., PhD, a multi-awarded DepEd-Rizal educator, graduate school professorial lecturer, and Diwa textbook author who holds a Doctorate degree in Educational Management and Administration. Bringing his extensive background as an international early childhood practitioner and published researcher to the session, Mr. Ahillon guided the KWCA faculty through the complex process of designing Curriculum Maps and Unit Learning Plans specifically structured for a Three-Term School Calendar. His discussion focused on practical frameworks that help teachers break down the new national learning competencies into clear, manageable term objectives.



Following the lecture, the educators participated in a collaborative workshop where they reviewed their existing teaching syllabi and began drafting realigned lesson plans. This hands-on application allowed teachers across different grade levels to ensure horizontal and vertical alignment in their subjects, guaranteeing that the new curriculum's standards are met with high academic rigor. By updating these structural tools, KWCA reinforces its commitment to delivering a well-organized, forward-thinking, and values-driven education.


This productive academic planning session was made possible through the collaboration of Diwa Learning Systems Inc. and Bato Balani Foundation Inc. (BBFI), as part of their shared advocacy to support schools in curriculum modernization and teacher empowerment.
