To ensure its educators remain at the forefront of national academic standards, Olivarez College hosted a comprehensive In-Service Training (INSET) and Faculty Retooling seminar on 8 June 2026.
The institutional development event focused heavily on a crucial milestone for the upcoming school year: "The DepEd System Reforms SY 2026–2027." The training session was designed to unpack the latest policy updates and educational shifts introduced by the Department of Education (DepEd), ensuring a seamless transition into the new academic calendar.
Equipping Educators for Systemic Shifts
The seminar gathered members of the Integrated Basic Education Department (IBED) faculty, alongside school administrators and academic staff. The primary objective of the intensive session was to help the academic community thoroughly understand and implement new curriculum designs, updated student assessment practices, and responsive instructional planning frameworks.
Rather than treating these national policy modifications as administrative hurdles, the training empowered faculty to explore practical ways to adapt their day-to-day lesson delivery. Through the session, the academy emphasized building flexible, learner-centered classrooms that directly support the holistic development and long-term success of modern learners.
Expert Insight on Strategic Policy
The seminar featured Mr. Lemark B. Viloria, PhD, who served as the expert speaker for the afternoon. Drawing from deep professional experience, Dr. Viloria guided administrators and teachers through the core mechanisms of the upcoming learning system reforms. He shared strategic methods for aligning school resources, managing classroom adjustments, and adopting innovative pedagogical habits that match the evolving demands of the national education sector.
The interactive discussion gave teachers a dedicated space to clarify policy directions, ensuring the entire basic education unit moves forward with a unified strategy for the upcoming school year.
A Shared Drive for Quality Education
This essential professional development milestone was successfully organized on campus through the valuable coordination and support of Diwa Learning Systems Inc. and Bato Balani Foundation Inc. By working hand in hand with local educational institutions, both organizations continue their commitment to delivering timely resources and training that empower Filipino educators to handle national curriculum changes confidently and effectively.
