To further enhance instructional efficiency in the modern era, teachers and coordinators from the Oblates of St. Joseph (OSJ) educational network gathered virtually via Zoom on 29 May 2026 for a specialized training session on Digital Pedagogy. The productive morning session focused on utilizing technology meaningfully to support teaching, boost student participation, and make virtual and hybrid lessons more interactive.
Empowering Classrooms Through Technology
The training highlighted how the deliberate integration of digital tools—such as multimedia presentations, educational videos, online quizzes, and specialized apps—can transform traditional lessons into dynamic, student-centered learning experiences. Beyond making concepts easier to understand, digital pedagogy was underscored as a powerful mechanism for educators to seamlessly track student progress, provide real-time feedback, and cultivate essential 21st-century skills like digital literacy and teamwork among contemporary learners.
The session was facilitated by Mr. Lourence E. Retone, LPT, PhD, a Master Teacher II at National University - Nazareth School who brings over eleven years of rich teaching experience and a proven track record recognized by the Faculty Excellence Award 2024.
This professional development initiative was made possible through a joint effort with Diwa Learning Systems Inc. and Bato Balani Foundation Inc. (BBFI), successfully equipping OSJ coordinators and faculty members with actionable frameworks to seamlessly blend technology into their daily curricula.
