In a resounding display of scientific excellence and academic rigor, The Mabini Academy of Lipa, Batangas, emerged as the Champion of the Bato Balani Science Investigatory Project (BBSIP) Challenge for S.Y. 2025–2026. The victory, announced during a nationwide Facebook Live broadcast on March 21, 2026, underscores the school's commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and high-level inquiry.
The program was held in celebration of the 45th anniversary of Bato Balani for Science and Technology. As a premier showcase of Filipino talent, the event featured the high-stakes BBSIP Final Round alongside an inspirational Pinoy Scientist Live! segment.
The Challenge of the Live Defense
The heart of the event was the live defense, where five finalist teams presented original research to a panel of experts. Moving beyond static displays, the finalists were required to defend their methodologies, data, and conclusions in real-time.
A key highlight was the Pinoy Scientist Live segment featuring Dr. Izrael Zenar Bautista, a Space Systems Engineer and Chief Science Research Specialist at the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA). By connecting students with a world-class professional, the event illustrated the clear path from student-led research to a career in global science.

Recognizing Scientific Excellence
The broadcast also featured the Bato Balani Science Excellence Awards (BBSEA), which honored outstanding students for their exceptional academic achievements throughout the school year.
By integrating competition, professional mentorship, and academic recognition, Diwa Learning Systems Inc. and the Bato Balani Foundation Inc. continue to lead the way in promoting a culture of innovation across the Philippines.
