To further refine classroom engagement and scientific inquiry, Saint Mary’s Angels College of Valenzuela Inc. (SMACV) hosted a specialized seminar entitled "Differentiated Instruction and How to Do It in Science Classes" on May 22, 2026.
The session was led by Ms. Pauline Cueno, a dedicated educator, Diwa textbook author, and Science specialist currently pursuing her PhD in Science Education at De La Salle University. Drawing from her academic research and publishing experience, Ms. Cueno shared expert strategies on making science more accessible and exciting for diverse learners. Her discussion focused on teaching mastery and practical techniques to sustain student attention when tackling complex scientific concepts, ensuring that teachers can cater to various learning paces and styles effectively.

From Theory to Experimentation
The afternoon featured a hands-on workshop where faculty members were grouped by grade level to design specific science experiments that exemplify differentiated learning. Participants demonstrated these experiments and explained how their selected methods cater to various learning styles, helping students better understand the properties of matter.
This professional development initiative was part of the "How to Become a Highly Effective Teacher" seminar series, organized by Diwa Learning Systems Inc. in collaboration with Bato Balani Foundation Inc. (BBFI). By empowering teachers with these practical tools, the seminar ensures that science instruction at SMACV remains dynamic, inclusive, and highly effective.
