Eleven scholars taking up BS Education were among the graduates of FAITH Colleges in Tanauan City, Batangas last June 2. Forming the second batch of the Diwa-CEAP 30&75 Education Scholarship Program, these future educators all received a full 4-year BS Education Scholarship at FAITH, and free travel expenses and dormitory lodging.

A partnership between Diwa Learning Systems Inc. (Diwa) and Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP), the Diwa-CEAP 30&75 Education Scholarship Program began in 2013 in celebration of Diwa’s 30th year, and a lead up to CEAP’s 75th anniversary. Its mission was to give deserving students a chance to fulfill their dream to become educators, and eventually become future leaders of Philippine education.

Three of the scholars who graduated were casualties of Typhoon Yolanda in 2013. “You have not only given us a means of attaining a good education, you gave us a future,” Cleo Thea Ong shares in her message to the benefactors. All three of them from Tacloban graduated with latin honors.

The program’s first batch of 18 scholars graduated in April of 2017. The last batch comprised of 23 scholars are set to enter their last year at FAITH on August.

As Diwa and CEAP continue to seek more opportunities to work together to upgrade the status of teachers in our society, the Diwa Leaders in Education Scholarship Program was launched in line with Diwa’s 35th year celebration. Under the program, Diwa and CEAP identified 20 of the country’s first batch of graduating senior high school students that will be given a chance to receive full scholarships for a 4-year BS Education course in FAITH.

The Diwa Leaders in Education Scholarship Program is one of the milestone activities of Diwa’s 35th anniversary.
